The Uttarakhand High Court disposed of a Suo Moto Public Interest Litigation (PIL) related to the appointment of the President and Members of the State and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Uttarakhand.
After notice, counsel for respondent has placed on record copy of letters dated 07th, 10th, and 11th January, 2024.
On 12.01.2024, counsel for the respondent assured the Court that advertisement inviting applications will be issued on or before 20.01.2024, and the selection process will be concluded within four months.
The counsel for respondent has further informed the Court that the written examination has already been held on 06th and 07th April, 2024.
Since the selection process has already been initiated, the Division Bench of Chief Justice Ritu Bahri and Justice Alok Kumar Verma held that no further directions are required to be given.
