Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of 7 Judges to 3 High Courts

The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday recommended the elevation of seven Additional Judges as Permanent Judges to the High Courts of Delhi, Punjab & Haryana, and Karnataka.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, and comprising Justice Bhushan Ramakrishna Gavai, Justice Surya Kant, Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice Abhay S Oka as its members.

Justice Harpreet Singh Brar, Additional Judge at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, was chosen for elevation as Permanent Judge of the same High Court.

The Collegium recommended the appointment of Justice Shalinder Kaur and Justice Ravinder Dudeja, Additional Judges in the Delhi High Court, as Permanent Judges in the same High Court.

The meeting further recommended the appointment of

Justice Ramachandra Dattatray Huddar, Justice Venkatesh Naik Thavaryanaik and Justice Vijaykumar Adagouda Patil, Additional Judges, as Permanent Judges in the High Court of Karnataka.

The Supreme Court Collegium also approved the appointment of Justice Rajesh Rai Kallangala, Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court, as Permanent Judge of the same High Court, on occurrence of vacancy on February 1, 2025.
