The Delhi Police on Saturday concluded its arguments against Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former President of Wrestling Federation of India Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was accused of sexually assaulting women wrestlers.
Appearing for Delhi Police before the Rouse Avenue Courts, Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Atul Shrivastava contended that the matter was not about whether the victims recorded their statement or not, but about the wrong which happened with them.
The SPP said that on the basis of evidence and proofs submitted before the court, the charges could be framed against the accused.
He said whenever the accused got the opportunity, he attempted to outrage the modesty of the female wrestler.
As per the complaint, during an event in Kazakhstan, the accused called the wrestler in his room and embraced her forcefully. When the female wrestler objected, Brij Bhushan told the girl that he was like hey father.
Another wrestler said that during another event related to the Asian Championship, the accused put his hand on her stomach and also touched her inappropriately.
