Pran Pratistha event: Judges who were part of historical Ayodhya verdict invited

The Constitution bench comprising of five judges of Supreme Court who delivered the historic verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi case have been invited to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration ceremony on January 22 as state guests.

The five Judges Constitution bench in the year 2019, ruled in favour of construction of a Ram temple by a trust at the disputed site.

The Constitution bench which was part of the historical verdict comprises of former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, former CJI SA Bobde, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and former Supreme Court judges Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer.

As the preparations are underway for the Ram Mandir ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, it will also will mark the inauguration of the Ram temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest of the event.

Not only these law luminaries but also 50 jurists, including former chief justices, judges and top lawyers,Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and former Attorney General KK Venugopal are also among the invitees.

The first visuals of the idol of Ram Lalla installed inside the sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya surfaced on Thursday. The seven-day religious rituals for the Ayodhya Ram Temple ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony began on January 16 and will continue till January 21.

According to the temple trust, over 7,000 people, including politicians, celebrities, industrialists, saints will attend the ceremony.

The temple town of Ayodhya has got a major facelift in the run-up to the Ram Mandir event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday released commemorative postage stamps on Ayodhya’s Ram Temple and a book with stamps dedicated to Lord Ram from around the world.
