The Kerala High Court closed proceedings in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) which sought the appointment of an administrator to oversee the affairs of the Cheruvally Estate, currently in possession of Gospel for Asia, represented by K.P. Yohannan.
The PIL was filed due to a staff strike at the estate in 2017. However, the petitioners’ counsel stated that the petition is no longer being pursued.
Considering the pending suit filed by the State against Gospel for Asia in the Civil Court, the bench, comprising Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice S. Manu, declined to enter into the question of title.
With no evidence of ongoing issues, the court closed the proceedings in the PIL.
