The Bombay High Court issued notice on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed alleging that the minority institutions are not conducting themselves in tune with the scheme of the Government.
The PIL has been filed by the residents of Karanja Lad, District Washim, have come out with twofold allegations:-
(i) that the minority institutions (11 in number) in Karanja Taluka of Washim District are not conducting themselves in tune with the Scheme reflected in Government Resolution dated 4th July, 2008 and
(ii) that the minority Institutions are not admitting 50% of the students from minority group and are prescribing curriculum of Central Board instead of State Board, which is not permissible.
While considering the PIL , the Division Bench of Justice Nitin W Sambre and Justice Abhay J Mantri issued notice to the respondents and listed the matter on September 18, 2024.
