The Punjab High Court disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeking direction to the respondent- Union Territory, Chandigarh Administration to provide the requisite staff to the Punjab State Human Rights Commission, Chandigarh.
The same is fully described in the letter dated 27.1.2022 issued by the Deputy Controller (Finance and Accounts), Punjab State Human Rights Commission, Chandigarh.
The PIL has been filed by one H C Arora.
Notice of motion which has been accepted by the respondents counsel.
After hearing counsel for the parties, the Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Ritu Bahri and Justice Nidhi Gupta disposed of the Petition with a direction to the respondent-UT Administration to examine the demands made by the Punjab State Human Rights Commission, Chandigarh vide letter dated 27.1.2022 and the information sought by the Chandigarh Administration by subsequent letters and inform the Commission about the outcome within a period of six weeks.
